Damn!

My parents want me to have a relationship with my best friend (a girl). They said it over lunch, and she was present. A-rate awkward moment. I just wish they could keep their mouths shut every now and then. Damn. Damn. Damn. I'm so pissed at them... why can't they notice that A) I'm not interested in her romantically, and B) that I'm gay. Damn.

Ah awkward. Does your friend

Ah awkward. Does your friend know these things? That's probably better than your parents knowing.

Btw, there's a kid I go to school with that seems like he could be you. He looks like what I imagine you to look like.

She knows I'm not interested

She knows I'm not interested romantically, and my parents... they don't know anything.

Really? Why does he seems like he could be me? Why, but I am interested on the vision people has of me.

He has a good sense of

He has a good sense of appearance, good clothes, good haircut, nice glasses. I don't know, hah. He looks like he would enjoy the Postal Service [or anything Ben Gibbard related, really].

Heh...

Well, you can't fault them for no realizing you're gay if you don't come out. Maybe they're forcing the issue?

Beyond that, though, let's suppose you were straight... that's sort of a bizarre way to bring it up, with her there and all. Even if you were interested that would be awkward, possibly even more so.

Well... I'm 17, I've never

Well... I'm 17, I've never dated a girl, I'm in drama at my school, and most of my friends are girls. Give me a break, they have to suspect it, at least (by the way, I am just projecting my anger into them, so I don't have to deal with it consciously).

I think they want me to marry her or something like that. I mean, they would never do such a tasteless, careless, indecent, awkward, and antisocial thing without a good reason. I just hope their reason is really good, or I may get very mad at them.
